Some people like to end their vacation with a bang. Others... like me end their vacation a week earlier to "get organized".. call it easing the idea that I will not have a life anymore once school starts.
It's really difficult for me, for some reason this time around to ease in school work a week before it actually starts.
I've been trying to jumpstart my brain for a week now.. but it just doesn't want to leave the vacation mode.
But I think once school really starts (this Monday) I'll get back to the swing of it whether I like it or not.
I have SOOOooooooooo many crap to do. Maybe that's why my brain refuses to respond. It went overload after reading the syllabus.
I have ECG, ABGs, IVPB, IVpushes, Med admininstration via tube feedings, Foleys, cardiac meds...all to review.
I'm excited and terrified all at the same time. My final semester...*Insert Rocky eye of the tiger music here*
Bring it I say.
*record scratch* Ugh...I want more vacation!!! >-<
I'm going to try to at least exercise 30 minutes on days I'm not in school. I know for a fact that I will be dead tired after 12 hour clinical shifts 2 days in a row. So no way in hell I'll be at the gym in between those days.
I'm also going to try and eat right. I know my biggest weakness during school is stopping by fastfood. I get so busy in the day that I never had time to eat during shifts so I am a raving hungry monster by late afternoon.
trail mixes will be my friends.. lol
It does seem like when you're at the end is the part where you really have to push yourself to get back into it. I think its just your brains way of being in denial. LOL But you'll get there soon and you'll be so happy you're at the end of your school journey! I know diet and exercise will be hard, but just try to eat balanced so that you FEEL good. Focus on that instead of losing and I think you'll be amazed at what you accomplish. :) Well, food wise! You already know what you're accomplishing school wise!
ReplyDeleteYou have no idea how your words really helped me put things in perspective. I honestly can say that I felt a whole lot better after reading your comment. Thank you so much Jewlz! I hope that your journey is always going well :) You're awesome <3
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! I feel YOU 100%% I been there exactly 3 weeks ago! I am on my 3rd week of school since winter break and I also felt like I didn't want to leave vacation mode after reading the syllabus!
ReplyDeleteBut, can you believe it!??! Your going to be a nurse! :DD All you hard painful struggles is paying off. This is your last run, make it your best one! :)
I know it's hard to train your brain into the right mind set. But I know you can do it. Keep focus, keep trying, your going to be ONE SKINNY & HOT & SMART NURSE!!
I'm soo happy for you!! OMGoSH! only 118 days left! :D
Haha thank you Jenny! That's super sweet of you to say and it is appreciated :) I'm just ready to be done and although I get my occassional bouts of panic attacks I sure hope I push through this last 16 weeks!
ReplyDeleteAs for the camera recommendation. I currently own a Canon XS rebel. It's an old model because I have gotten it nearly 4 years ago. Right now, I wouldn't recommend you to my model because its outdated and it can't shoot video. You should try the newer version such as a Canon T3i or a Canon T4i. But those camera can get a bit price. I think you can also settle for a "Point and Shoot" Camera. They also can deliver good quality pictures too! However, I'm not an expert in that department though. :)
ReplyDeleteawesome! thank you for the tips! :)
ReplyDeleteI hope you are doing well!
ReplyDeleteWow, 16 weeks left, that's awesome!
ReplyDeleteJust stay focused, like they say take it a day at a time, the syllabus always gets my heart pumping...
Once you're in school mode you will get the school flow again... anyways, and remember you are not alone, the your whole cohort is with you on this one, lol...
