Broke --- /brōk/ Adjective: Having completely run out of money

That's the word of the day... week... month... the next two years? -- actually probably for a long time until I finish school, get a job, and finally make sssoommme moolah...

I have all but one of the 11 textbooks for this semester. Good lord, am I broke or what.

I may be broke, but I'm pretty rich in spirit. Very excited for school and I am READY to get work done!

My goals for the next two years of school are :
  1. Study hard
  2. Be humble
  3. Be a sponge
  4. Be forgiving of myself when I screw up
  5. Stay positive
  6. Stay diligent
  7. Make friends and study buddies
  8. Make time for myself at least one day out of the week
  9. Accept criticism
  10. Accept compliments
Ten so far, I'm sure I'll be adding some as I go along.

  1. Boy, I can relate! I actually have to have some of those same textbooks. :| My wallet dreads this time of the school year. Good thing I still have family that love me enough to help ease the pain!

Those are some pretty good goals you've got there, too! I definitely want to work on being more forgiving of myself...I am my own worst enemy! Great post!

  2. I'm the same way. I really needed to remind myself that it's okay.. crap happens and I need to move on :)

We may be poor today and the next couple of years but once we're working we'd be ballin' girl!

  3. LOL! I'll sheepishly admit that *sometimes* the thought of that good money helps me pull through the hard times! :P And you're right, crap does happen. *Sigh* I'll come to terms with it...eventually. :D

  6. Hey Gertie,
It looks like the Fitness Challenge for Week 2 is showing up as password protected. I don't know about others, but I wasn't able to view it.

Also, I really like your goals list for the next two years. You are so positive and proactive in supporting that trait. It can only help you. I have a list written by a physician about the top ten reasons he loves being a doctor and I have three copies of it posted between work and home and back pocket. Other people can be so negative and tell you all the reasons that you shouldn't be doing something; I find it helpful to remember all the good reasons for doing something. I don't know if other people are afraid of hard work or what, but even at my age of 36 I am psyched about my direction and I am also really looking forward to seeing your, no doubt excellent, progress as well.

  7. Thank so much Heather! :) I know what you mean. I feels satisfying to know (at 30) that I finally found my direction and with any "road trip" you need good and specific "maps".

I like to concentrate on optimism because attitude really is what we can control and everything else is out of our hands.

Good luck to us! I know we're going to make it! :)
